MARCSTA’s General Safety Induction (Work Safely) was developed to provide a standardised accredited induction for employees of contractors and other employees moving between various sites to replace what were generally inadequate inductions provided at many mining operations.
This training program has become recognised as the benchmark reflecting ever changing practices, standards and regulatory requirements and is reviewed annually by industry, OHS training providers, equipment suppliers and the regulatory authorities.
The program ensures compliance with duty of care responsibilities and includes important, current health issues which every employee should be aware of.
Today MARCSTA offers a wide range of essential occupational health and safety programs in most key industry sectors.
RPL opportunities enable candidates to extend their OHS qualifications across these sectors of industry.
MARCSTA’s training providers are licensed annually to deliver its range of safety and health programs. They must hold a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment and have considerable safety training expertise in the mining and/or associated industry sectors.
Applicants for a training provider licence are independently assessed by an accreditation panel which may include industry and regulatory expertise and adult education professionals.
Licenced training providers are available throughout the state and some other Australian states and many of them are RTO’s.
MARCSTA is an industry managed organisation operating on a not-for-profit basis to ensure quality training at a low cost. Its only objective is to improve occupational health and safety in the workplace.
