Certificate III in Occupational Health and Safety (BSB30707)

Commencing a career in Occupational Health and Safety

MARCSTA and the Academy of Safety Education and Training – West Coast TAFE offer candidates who have successfully completed the General Safety Induction and achieved the statement of attainment for 'Work Safely and Follow OH&S Policies and Procedures' the opportunity to obtain a Certificate III in Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S).

Who would find the Cert III in OH&S beneficial?

The Certificate III is an introductory level Occupational Health and Safety program suitable for people with an interest in OH&S, working in general safety, or wishing to start formal studies in the field of OH&S.  The Certificate III in OH&S is a nationally recognised qualification.

Procedures you must follow:

  • Download the Self Assessment and RPL Guide booklet from the RPL section of the MARCSTA website.  After reading the guide, and you believe you can provide current and relevant evidence to achieve a statement of attainment contact MARCSTA on 9355 1400.  Further information is available from the 'After MARCSTA' section of the website www.marcsta.com
  • MARCSTA will provide you with support and a workbook to assist you through the RPL process
  • Once completed, submit the evidence workbook to MARCSTA for assessment and if acceptable we will issue you with a Statement of Attainment for ‘Work Safely and Follow OH&S Policies and Procedures – RIIOHS201A’
  • Forward the Statement of Attainment and the completed evidence workbook to the Academy of Safety Education and Training and you will be applying for a Recognition of Prior Learning for the following Business Service Package units.  (Fees apply for the RPL process)

The Final Step

Once the Academy of Safety Education and Training have assessed and approved your application for Recognition of Prior Learning, you can proceed to complete the following units to obtain your Certificate III in Occupational Health and Safety.
